That’s so suite life of being really grateful and food-full while you online shop

Thanksgiving is my Super Bowl.

Just a reminder that if you want an *extra* exclusive letter each month, subscribe to the paid version below for the really juicy bits and bobs. I would also be ever ever grateful for your support because…damn this is hard! If you’re already subscribed, THANK YOU!

‘Tis the season for gifting, gift guiding, and (not so) subtly guiding your friends and family towards the gifts you’ve been eyeing. To help spark some BFCM shopping inspiration, I’ve rounded up a list of the best kitchen essentials, fashion finds, home decor pieces, little luxuries, and gifts for the gourmand in your life that are on SALE this week.

I’ve also listed out the holiday treats that I’ll be making while I’m home in DC (with the big, non-NYC sized kitchen to swan around in!), so if you want to follow along with the cooking process, I’ll be sharing all of the tips and tricks on my Instagram stories (@justsoiree).

Disclaimer: Gifting is hard and shopping is expensive. Black Friday deals are great for bigger purchases that you’ve been eyeing and deliberating for a while—that one toaster oven or those Noramatec boots that you reallyreallyreally want—but it’s all too easy to get caught up in the red banners and flashing pop ups and add everything to cart.

When shopping for a gift, try to find something that the recipient will actually love and use, so it won’t get stuck in the back of a closet for “one day.” But also something that’s a bit more of a want than a need or a little luxury that they wouldn’t otherwise buy for themselves so that it feels special and like you know them and their tastes. ALSO handmade gifts are actually pretty great and can go past the Coupon for One Free Hug book that you made your mom for her birthday. Make jam or a spice blend or a baking mix or infused oils or liqueurs or jewelry to gift to everyone on your list! That would be the most special present of all.

Kitchen essentials

I’ve tried so many of the fancy ones and this Amazon find remains the best that I’ve used. It’s also almost half off for BFCM!

Le Creuset Dutch Oven ($360 to $250)

Every year, I ache for a Le Creuset stocked kitchen…one day. One day…

Call me a cheater, I dare you, but I literally use this chopper every single day. There are so many sizes that it chops and literally cuts my cooking time in HALF. It’s a little annoying to clean, but hashtag love is love hashtag if he wanted to he would hashtag ilysm it’s so worth it.

Mueller can do no wrong in my book and this toaster is just too stunning for words.

You can’t put a price tag on icecreamatyourfindertips happiness…

I’ve always wanted to be the type of person who wakes up to a freshly baked loaf of bread and truly think that a bread smelling home is exceptionally @justsoiree HOWEVER…I am not a woodland fairy and don’t make breakfast every day. With this magic machine…I could be though. Just plop in the ingredients, set a time that you want a loaf ready, and POOF!

Fashion finds

A bow makes everything more cinematic, girlhood, main character, festive, does it not?

There’s something about a nostalgic, fun, whimsical sweater that just feels like the holidays even if it isn’t a classic Christmas sweater and this one has that je ne sais quois.

We are doing out first ever SALE! Today through Christmas, all SOIRÉE merch is 20% off, so now is the time to shop for all your “Shhh, I’m romanticizing my life, friends.”

Solid and Striped makes the best bathing suits and cozy basics. Finding this one for OVER 75% off seemed almost too good to be true.

Little luxuries

This New York-based candle brand turns your old wine bottles into the chicest candles around! They make the perfect gifts that are just as aesthetically pleasing as they are good for the planet. Stay tuned for their Dinner Party inspired drop!

One thing about gifts is that they’re meant to be used, so there’s no reason not to pick something that the giftee really really wants. Giving a greens power may not seem as glamorous as a pair of cashmere socks or a necklace, but AG1 feels luxe to unbox and is so much more than just a powder. You’re giving the gift of energy.

Not on sale, per se, but nothing in the world has ever been more SOIRÉE than these food shaped candles. They have been on my every wish list and Pinterest board for as long as I can imagine.

Gourmand gifts

Whether you’re a home cook or a seasoned chef, you can never have too many types of salt. Osmo makes the best assortment of flavors (I personally love the mushroom umami salt over eggs or roasted veggies!) in packages that look beautiful to gift. They also make for the perfect hostess gift because each salt costs just about as much as a bouquet of flowers, but will definitely last longer…and taste better.

Fancy Tinned Fish

I love the Matiz Wild Cockles with the Momofuku Chili Crunch on top and the duo makes a unique but delicious gift.

Personally, my favorite gifts are always edible. I love to try the new aioli that you discovered or your childhood favorite cookie. Teas, condiments, canned goods, sauces, oils, vinegars, dressings, and dried or smoked meats all make the best gifts for the foodies in your life. Especially if they have a personal touch. This is my list of favorites for a little inspiration.

What I’m cooking

Unlike past years, this year, a torn ankle has resulted in my needing to keep the cooking simple. Minimal ingredients and minimal activity. That said, being back in DC means that there are lists of notes in my phone of things that I’ve been waiting to make in the space of an at home kitchen that’s fully stocked with every spice and syrup imaginable. This is said note:
